How do you combine a kitchen, dining area, lounge and a work zone with a large library in just under 40 m² – and create an atmosphere of spaciousness and tranquillity? This was precisely the challenge we took on for an academic from abroad, whose passion for books formed the heart of the design.

Without interfering with the structural elements, floors or walls, the focus was exclusively on furniture planning. The result is a room in which each zone is optimally aligned with the garden through clear lines of sight. Generous window areas – a large balcony window and the kitchen window – allow the greenery from outside to flow into the interior and create a bright, airy ambience.

A minimalist use of materials and colours gives the room a calm atmosphere that highlights the beauty of the custom-made library. The concept is complemented by black-veneered storage furniture with an integrated swing door. This acts as an elegant separation between the living room and hallway, while also defining the dining and kitchen areas.

The result is a well-thought-out living concept that combines functional diversity with clarity and lightness
